Someone likes to splash! Miles had a real bath last night - no more baby tub! We could tell he enjoyed his new freedom in the tub and the chance to splash a bit.

Here are Melanie and Miles a year ago:
Melanie was 20 weeks along and definitely showing. The 20 week ultrasound would be in a few days and we would finally find out if we were having a boy or girl. One year later, we have this exciting little guy/baby superhero!
In other new, Miles has finally started to eat solid foods. However, Miles has one condition - he wants to feed himself. See for yourself. We bought some Cheerios-like puffs and he seems to like the texture. He can suck on them and soften them up until they're dissolved enough to swallow. He's still getting the hang of grabbing things this small, but 50% of the time he can successfully grab the food between his thumb and forefinger (pincer grasp). Other times he'll just pull the food toward the lip on his high chair tray and then rake it into his mouth or it will get stuck somewhere on his slobbery hands and has trouble finding it.
We also bought some Gerber fruit and veggie melts, which are like crunchy, little meringues make of fruits and vegetables. They're sweet like berries, so babies like them. Miles likes them and is pretty proud of himself. Later, he also had some cut up blueberries and carrots. As long as he fed them to himself, he seemed to like them.

Miles is sitting more and more and for longer stretches each time. Sometimes he needs a sturdy toy in front of him to hold onto. Other times he can sit there for a few minutes while moving around, reaching for toys beside or behind him.
In other news, Miles has officially moved into his room. Friday night he slept in his crib in his room for the first time. The night was a success as he only woke up once. We gave it another try Saturday night and he did just fine, once again. He's been sleeping better at night lately and has almost gotten too big for long stretches in his Pack 'n Play. It was a little sad to see him move out, but it was definitely time for the crib....
