Miles is 8 months old as of last Friday (2/22/2013).  He is now super active - dancing, rolling, scooting, or just shaking himself or random objects at all times (he's been active for months now, it just continues to intensify).  Sometimes it's hilarious (his crazy dancing)!  Other times it can be a bit of a nuisance (non-stop rolling while trying to change his diaper)....

...and sometimes we just want some 8-month photos of a happy, but STILL baby.  Here are the best Miles would give us.

We got a few outdoor photos on Sunday as well.  He wasn't too fond of the dry grass poking through his clothes.

We had a visit from Grandpa Jeff on Wednesday, who happened to be in our neck of the woods for work.  He took us all out to dinner and got to see first hand how much Miles has changed since Christmas.  Miles had a blast playing with napkins and straws and he had LOTS of things to tell Grandpa.

Thanks for coming to see us!!!

Last week Miles attended his second baseball game (the first was watching the Royals lose to the Red Sox at Fenway Park in Boston).  This time he got to see his legacy - Mizzou - play his hometown school (and #23 ranked) - Southern Miss.  USM was pretty good and defeated Mizzou 5-2.  We still had a good time, though.

Miles has become quite interested in the dogs lately.  He likes to pet them and loves to watch them walk around.  On Thursday, Louie and Ella decided to join Miles during playtime.  Louie likes to just lay back let Miles pet her....

Ella is still a little uneasy around Miles at times and would rather be in another room.  This is a rare glimpse of Ella "relaxing" next to Miles.

Miles has his OWN plans for Louie....

Miles loves eating "puffs" and "melts" - little Cheerios-type foods and freeze dried fruit snacks that melt in your mouth.  We want to make sure he's getting more whole fruits and vegetables, though, so we tried some freeze dried strawberries recently.  They worked out great!  He seems to like them a lot and they're not nearly as messy as the avocados!

As always, there are more photos in the Photo Albums section of the site.

In our quest to get Miles to eat solid foods, we've discovered that he'll eat most things as long as he gets to feed them to himself.  This means it has to be something soft enough that he can "chew" up in his toothless mouth, yet firm enough to grab and pick up without a spoon.  So far, bananas have worked out well, cooked carrots were not all that successful, and avocados were a BIG hit (and a BIGGER mess!)!

Louie is now reaping the benefits of having a baby in the house.  In fact, once Miles is placed in his high chair, Louie and Ella immediately rush over and they're impossible to keep away.

Miles didn't watch the Super Bowl, but he did get to play with some friends that evening.
