"I'm so hungry!!!!  Give me more!!!"

This is clearly what Miles is thinking as he tilts his head back and opens his mouth waiting for the next spoonful of food.  Pretty hilarious to watch....

Sometimes he gets a little frustrated when the food doesn't arrive in his mouth fast enough.

14 December 2012

Miles has been practicing his sitting so he'll (hopefully) be ready in time for Christmas.  Here's an inside look at one of his training sessions.  The locker room and practice facilities are generally off limits for the media, but this session was open to a couple local journalists.
Miles gets in a solid sitting performance during a Friday afternoon practice as Coach Scout evaluates.

Miles stops for a moment to pose and discuss his recent breakthroughs in practice.

Working on left and right hand stabilization techniques.
Only a couple more weeks until Christmas!  See you soon!

09 December 2012

Miles got a wagon for Christmas!  Yesterday we went for a little ride around the house.  It was a new experience for him - he had a surprised/curious look on his face for most of the ride.  Judging by the picture, though, I'm pretty sure he liked it.

In other news, after feeding him some cereal a few times, he's really getting the hang of it.  When we fed him Friday night, he was visibly excited to eat and seems to have figured out the whole "open my mouth as the spoon gets near" thing.

It still needs a little work as you can see, but the signs of progress are promising.  We're guessing it won't be too long before he wants to start feeding himself (or at least slathering food on his face himself).

29 November 2012

Miles has been SUPER hungry and ferociously eating in the middle of the night so this evening we decided to give him some cereal and hopefully satiate him for a while.  Regardless of tonight's eventual outcome, watching Miles (attempt to) eat was pretty entertaining.

25 November 2012

I've had so many family members come see me lately, I thought I would post a special blog to share some photos of them.  My computer skills are still a work in progress, but as you can see, I've been practicing.  Here goes....

Back in October, my Aunt Donna and Great Grandma Emma came to see me.  They liked me so much, they came back in November!  We had some fun times shopping and playing!
Aunt Donna and me, sitting on the couch!
Great Grandma Emma hugging me!  Mmmmm.....

My Grandma Bobbi, Grandpa Jeff, and Aunt Lora also came to see me in October and, once again, they were so impressed by my cuteness, that they just had to come back and celebrate Thanksgiving with me.  This time they brought my other great grandma, Elaine!  We watched Christmas movies, shopped, and made Thanksgiving dinner.  I even had my first bites of sweet potatoes....  Not bad, but they don't hold a candle to milk.
Aunt Lora and me (in my Santa hat)!
Me and my Great Grandma Elaine.
Four generations of Blackwells (whatever that means??).
Grandma Bobbi, Grandpa Jeff, and me.
Thanks for coming to see me, everyone!  I had a blast playing and laughing with you all.  I can't wait to see everyone at Christmas and post more pictures of my family!

"Everyone should have kids. They're the greatest joy in the world. But they're also terrorists. You'll realize this as soon as they're born and they start using sleep deprivation to break you." – Ray Romano
Sleep deprivation is nothing new for the Blackwell household.  Miles still wakes up 2-4 times a night.  His wakeup schedule lately has generally been midnight, 3:00am, 5:30am, and then he likes to stir and grunt for a good 30 minutes - hour at 6:00am until we all get out of bed at 7:00.  Can't wait for those repeated nights of uninterrupted sleep....
Miles is now 16 weeks old.  We weighed him on our (not-so-accurate) bathroom scale last night and the "little" guy is up to 15 pounds!!!  He's growing like a weed!
He also had a visit from Grandma Bobbi, Grandpa Jeff, and Aunt Lora last weekend.
